Panorama Radiology Specialists' principal radiologist and founder, Dr Angus Watts.

Panorama Radiology Specialists’ founder, Dr Angus Watts, is a Fellowship-trained general, musculoskeletal and interventional radiologist and long-term Gold Coast resident, who has provided his radiology expertise to the Gold Coast community since 2004. Angus is also a certified Level B (Senior) CT Coronary Angiography reader, accredited by the Australian Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in CT Coronary Angiography, a member of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ), and the Australian and NZ Society of Thoracic Radiology.

Angus was formerly a Partner and Managing Partner at South Coast Radiology, and oversaw its national expansion in 2014 to form what is now known as ASX-listed Integral Diagnostics. He later served as Clinical Director at SCR and sat on the national COVID19 committee before moving on after 18 years at SCR to found Panorama Radiology Specialists. 

Angus provided diagnostic and interventional radiology services at Pindara and John Flynn Private Hospitals over 18 years, including musculoskeletal, neuroradiology, imaging-guided pain management procedures and biopsies, vascular access and endovascular intervention , CT Coronary Angiography, oncology imaging, prostate mpMRI, women’s imaging, paediatric, emergency and general radiology services.

Over 2 decades in private radiology on the Gold Coast, Angus has earned a reputation for his meticulous attention to detail, depth of clinical experience, and results-driven approach to interventional procedures. Since 2004 Angus has performed an estimated 35,000 imaging-guided procedures, reported around 50,000 MRI studies, and is regularly sought after for an opinion on complex clinical cases by leading specialists and GPs.

Angus grew up in regional NSW and Brisbane and completed 6 years of Medical School at the University of Queensland. After 3 years of residency at the Gold Coast Hospital and a year in General Practice during which he completed his RANZCR Part 1 exams, Angus completed the 5 year RANZCR radiology specialist training program at Royal Brisbane Hospital, and sub-specialist Fellowships in Interventional and Musculoskeletal Radiology.

In 2018 Angus had the privilege of working as a musculoskeletal radiologist at the GC2018 Commonwealth Games, working closely with elite athletes and their support teams.

An accredited Level B (Senior) CT Coronary Angiography reader, Angus and has a keen interest in high resolution low dose CTCA technology using AI and its role in clinical practice.

Angus is one of a handful of radiologists in the region who read Prostate mpMRI (multiparametric MRI), groundbreaking technology that enables detection of small prostate cancers. Angus trained with pioneering Prostate mpMRI radiologist, Dr Eamonn McAteer.

As an avid rugby and cricket fan, and lifelong surfer, musculoskeletal radiology was a natural progression for Angus.

After 2 decades in private radiology practice, Angus came to believe that the optimal environment to deliver his services lay in a smaller, boutique format, alongside a team of highly skilled technologists using leading technology.  From that vision, Panorama Radiology Specialists was borne, on the foundation of providing personalised, patient-focussed care.

Outside radiology, Angus is an award-winning screenwriter and feature film producer through his production company Closereef Productions, a member of Screen Producers Australia, the Australian Writers’ Guild, and a passionate supporter of the Gold Coast Film Festival.

Angus wrote and produced outback feature film ‘Locusts‘ which was released in cinemas in 2019, played at 18 festivals and won numerous awards including the Australian Cinematographer’s Society Award of Distinction, and an ARIA nomination for Best Score. ‘Locusts‘ is streaming on Prime, 7+ and Apple TV.

Dr Allan Lu

Diagnostic Radiologist & Neuroradiologist

Dr Allan Lu is a highly experienced specialist radiologist with almost two decades of experience in diagnostic radiology, including imaging guided procedures and neuroradiology. After completing medical school and his residency, Dr Lu completed his 5 years of FRANZCR radiology specialist training at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital including a year of advanced subspecialist Fellowship training in neuroradiology and head & neck imaging at the University of Maryland Medical Centre, Baltimore in 2006.

Allan went on to become a partner radiologist with South Coast Radiology and Clinical Director at SCR’s Darling Downs Radiology clinic where he performed a wide range of CT, Ultrasound and MRI imaging, interventional imaging guided pain management and biopsy procedures, subspecialist neuroradiology and head and neck imaging.

Dr Lu later worked with QScan before joining the team at Panorama Radiology Specialists in 2025. He is also a part time Consultant Radiologist at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and a member of the American Society of Neuroradiologists.

A highly skilled and compassionate radiologist, Dr Lu is committed to providing the highest standard of diagnostic imaging care for our Gold Coast patients and referring clinicians.

Dr Jacqui Milne

Dr Jacqui Milne

Dr Jacqui Milne graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School in 2007 and went on to complete the 5 year specialist RANZCR radiology training program at GCUH.  In addition to broad expertise in all areas of general and procedural radiology, Dr Milne is a leading specialist in women’s imaging and has many years of experience in imaging guided interventional procedures.

Over a number of years as a fulltime specialist radiologist with South Coast Radiology, including regular sessional work at John Flynn and Pindara Private Hospitals, she also served as an Executive Director Radiologist on the national board of directors of Integral Diagnostics (the ASX-listed owner of South Coast Radiology) where she contributed significantly to the company’s strategic direction and multinational expansion across Australia and New Zealand, and gained extensive experience in business management.

After leaving SCR in 2023, she went on to pursue a career in the independent radiology sector with Panorama Radiology Specialists and her successful startup clinic in Fortitude valley, Brisbane Radiology.

Dr Milne brings extensive clinical expertise and compassion to her patient care in diagnostic and procedural radiology with Panorama Radiology Specialists, and is sharply focussed on providing the highest standard of medical imaging across all modalities including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, General XRay and imaging-guided procedures, to achieve optimal outcomes for our patients and referring clinicians.

Dr Izak van der Walt

Dr Izak van der Walt

Dr Izak van der Walt completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Queensland, earning Dean’s List honours each semester. He went on to obtain his medical degree from the University of Sydney, followed by his junior medical training at Royal North Shore Hospital, where he developed a strong interest in both diagnostic and interventional radiology.

He then undertook the Royal Australian and NZ College of Radiologists 5 year specialist training program across leading Sydney institutions, including St George, St Vincent’s, and Prince of Wales hospitals. During this time, he focused on the sub-specialty of interventional radiology. 

After being awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR), he completed a 12-month Interventional Radiology subspecialty fellowship at the Wesley and St Andrew’s Private Hospitals in Brisbane.

During his fellowship, Dr van der Walt gained extensive experience in complex vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures. His training encompassed a wide range of vascular interventions, including all forms of vascular access, pulmonary vascular procedures, and the treatment of visceral and peripheral vascular malformations. He also developed expertise in the latest generation of cryoablation and microwave ablation techniques for tumour treatment, ablation of vascular malformations and tumours, and image-guided procedures for pain relief.

In addition to his FRANZCR Fellowship qualifications, Dr van der Walt holds certification from the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR), having completed rigorous training and examination through the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE). He has a special interest in prostate artery embolisation (PAE) and has travelled to France for advanced training in novel liquid embolic techniques. He is also actively engaged in the emerging field of musculoskeletal (MSK) embolisation for conditions such as lateral hip and shoulder pain, having pursued overseas learning in Japan and the United States.

Passionate about equitable access to advanced care, Dr van der Walt is committed to expanding the reach of cutting-edge, sub-specialty interventional radiology procedures to regional communities across Australia. As a highly skilled diagnostic and interventional radiologist, he brings extensive experience to the Panorama team including neuro, body, spine and joint MRI, CT, Ultrasound, and a comprehensive range of imaging-guided pain management procedures for spine and joint conditions including Radiofrequency Ablation therapy.
